PCR History
The Pink City Runners Club (PCR) is a prominent community-based running organization in Jaipur, Rajasthan, dedicated to promoting health and fitness through running. PCR was established in 2009 by Dr Manoj Soni and Dr Namit Sharma, a passionate advocate for fitness and running. His vision was to create a platform that encourages individuals to adopt running as a lifestyle choice, fostering a community spirit among enthusiasts. Since its inception, PCR has grown significantly, boasting over 5,000 members. The club organizes various events, training sessions and community runs, catering to runners of all levels – from beginners to seasoned athletes. Their mission is to inspire and assist people in embracing a running lifestyle, thereby improving overall community health.
Inception of the Idea
A small group of fitness enthusiasts in Jaipur has come together to promote a running culture and healthy living. This marked the informal beginning of Pink City Runners.
First Official Run
Organized our first open run at Central Park, Jaipur with 20 participants — igniting the passion for community running.
Growth During Lockdown
Despite COVID-19 restrictions, the community kept the spirit alive with virtual runs, online fitness challenges, and home workouts.
Structured Training Begins
Started structured training programs for 5K, 10K, and half-marathon runners with expert-led weekend sessions.
Community Expansion
The club expanded to over 150 active members and started weekly runs at multiple locations across Jaipur.
First Marathon Participation
Pink City Runners officially participated in the Jaipur Marathon with over 80 registered runners representing the club.
Merchandise & Awards
Launched branded t-shirts, medals, and celebrated member achievements with annual awards and recognition events.
Looking Ahead
Planning state-level run meets, kids and senior programs, and a dedicated running app to track and motivate members.
